Just from the title of the book, you can comprehend whatever the Book is all about. A prayer to the sea. A childhood lost to war. A once renowned city lost to ashes.
The Sea prayer is a memoir.
After escaping a war zone, Marwan and his father are in search of a better home. In the hope that whatever lies beyond the sea would be home for them. Marwan’s father prays that the sea delivers his Son safely, his special cargo.
The book helps you fathom what millions of refugees go through while fleeing burnt cities and crossing the dark cold sea. Most of them perishing in its coldness.
Khaled Hosseini leaves you longing for much more just like usual. He stirs up emotion that is why he will always be my favorite writer. After reading his book”A thousand splendid sun” I was very curious of getting all his collection.
The sea prayer has very few pages. Took me only 15 minutes to finish it, but then like always, Khaled Hosseini leaves an imprint in your heart, his work does not see length. He has the power to make you cry over a 15 to 10 min read book. I fell in love with the illustrations. Perfectly done.
The proceeds goes to refugees camps, so buying it means offering a helping hand to millions.
Would totally recommend
Love and light always
