THE SILENT SCREAM

I have known Abdisalam for a decade now. And over the years I have loved his work. Both his photography and writings. Abdisalam Osman is a word doctor. His words are clothed and it is seen through The Silent scream poetry book he released last year. His book is very rich in language and needs you to digest every word for you to understand. A glimpse into them and you will feel like there's more into these pieces than just the outside picture. For you to understand his pieces, you must be very keen and of course Intelligent. Very Intelligent. If you’ve seen his work then you know what I am talking about.

 The book covers so many genres from culture, hatred, family, religion, betrayal, death among others. The book has 40 poems that tell stories. Stories that would make you ponder in their meanings.Poems that If you read it more than once, it may strike you as deeper than you first thought. I won't even lie, it took me the longest time to review this book. And the truth is, I still don't understand some of the poems bt then hey, thanks to his book reading sessions, that opened my mind. I was like wow,i would have never thought. That was my entire reaction during his book reading. Let alone the poems, the title itself, "THE SILENT SCREAM"  got me thinking a lot. How can a scream be silent? This is a mystery in itself. Indeed it's creative. He is creative. But then, few pages into the book and you will understand why he chose the title.

I still and will still never get enough of this book. A masterpiece. My favorite piece is "I COME FROM."
